low blood count and other questions

hi

i recently got out of the hospital because i needed a blood transfusion because i have been active for over a year  my blood count went down to 7 when it should have been 14. The doctor i was seeing didnt even send me for a blood test my the doctor i see for a cold did. Thank god lol the gastro doctor were pushing the injection you get every two weeks which side effects could be tb or lymphomia so i refused it said there must be an alternative i tried pred. but the side effect were horrible now i went back to my old doc and he is putting me on endecort it worked once i hope it does again when i told him how the other doc was pushing the injection needle which i forgot the name he told me that was a last resort before an operation. he told me that the doc was making a profit on it  isnt that horrible.  i also read a post from ucsurviver and wanted to know what pentasa was i talk lialda and i was wondering if that was in the family as asacol and lialda because i think the lialda is helping a little

the uc is only in the lower part of my colon it gets really depressing to take all of this meds.
