I'm not sure if 'strictly follow' is the best way to use this book. As Patel-Thompson says herself in the first chapter "...only do or don’t do what you feel is right and safe for you. Don’t give your power and authority over your own body away to anyone, especially not to me or the guidelines in this program!"
With that caveat in mind, I have implemented a number of her guidelines in my effort to become both healthy and independent of prescription drugs. I am willing to say that much of the success I have achieved thus far is the result of what I learned in LTYG. My current complaints are (I think) vestiges of previous drug use (prednisone and 6mp). Otherwise, I feel about as good as I have in a long time (I was even part of the winning team at a golf tournament last week!). My bm's are normal (1 or 2 per day) with only occasional bleeding (no pain or urgency). During my most recent colonoscopy I had a good deal of bleeding develop (which had me worried), but was able to get that under control pretty quickly using her techniques (especially her retention enema).
So yes, I would say I have had success using the guidelines described in LYTG. That is also why I have been recommending it to others.
