Just curious--What is the degree of systemic absorption of Cortifoam? I am almost done tapering off prednisone and I'm wondering how much actually gets into my system from the Cortifoam. I believe I read that it is around 3-5mgs of steroid in the foam that is systemic and the enemas are about 5-8mgs. No you don't have to taper as slow (like you would with the oral) but it's always wise to taper from any sort of steroid.

Not enough steriod gets into your system via cortifoam because you're not taking it orally like pred which does release large amounts into your system as it's intended to, which is why it's safe to take cortifoam for long periods of time (I've taken it for as long as a yr) and it's also the reason why virtually no side effects from using cortifoam.
