NIOXIN Advise for hair loss

Hi,
i am having hair loss since i have started Canasa & Lialda....so planning to buy NIOXIN as suggested in earlier posts but need your advise before i spend $$ there!
I have a few questions for those who have used it:

1. do u use it everyday? all these 3 products: NIOXIN Cleanser™, NIOXIN Scalp Therapy™ and NIOXIN Scalp Treatment
2. Is it a shampoo or do we shampoo seperately?
3. do the hair really stop falling & do they become thicker..... i used to have lovely hair :-(

     I use Nioxin.  I purchased it from my  hairdresser.  I believe Penney's Salons carry it too.  The first time I bought it I paid $20 for the three products, cleanser, scalp treatment and therapy.  But they were the smaller bottles.  It would be a better deal to purchase the larger bottles for $40.  You need only use a small portion.  I do not shampoo my hair every day, so I use it two  or three times a week and it does work!

This might be a little off-topic, but who knows, it may help. When I was on prednisone I had some hair loss, and it turns out my zinc was low. I started taking a zinc supplement and it helped a lot.

Thanks Christine for info! EP i wil increase zinc in diet...i want my hair back!! :-)

There were few more people who posted about NIOXIN earlier ...pls give me more details.... every penny counts in this economy especially when you are taking Lialda & Canasa smilewinkgrin

ElephantPipe, how did you know your zinc was low? Blood test? I've read that too much zinc can also cause hair loss, so I'm hesitant to take it even though by GI recommended to do so.

I ordered TheraPro Mediceuticals, which works similarly to Nioxin except it uses more natural products. I just got it yesterday, but hopefully it'll work.

It cost $55 with shipping. It includes shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in follicle treatment.

I use Nioxin as well.  I started about a month ago and see results already.  Yes, you should use each of the 3 treatments (Cleanser, Therapy and treatement).  I've also heard that taking a biotin suplament helps as well, I havent tried it because I wanted to see how affective the Nioxin was.
