Hi,
Thank you both for your replies.
I don't have a copy of yesterday's results, the GI did show them to me and each one just said normal mucosa. I do however have a copy of the results from the last biopsies - Mucosal oedema with loss of vascular pattern and granularity consistent with resolving mild to moderate colitis.
A few months before colonoscopy I had been very ill with very high inflamation levels, high white cell count and was also anemiac and had to take Cipro for over 3 months as every time I stopped taking it within a week I was very ill again. Was hospitalised with it on two occasions, but the docs kept saying it was a kidney infection even though the urinalysis only always came back with mixed growth. A friend of mine who is a nurse in Australia said I should have a colonoscopy as it sounded like IBD. So the first colonoscopy was done at a private hospital but as my health insurance wouldn't cover another colonoscopy for 3 years, and GI insisted in doing one I had to go public. So colonoscopys were done in two different hospitals.
The surgeon put me on Dipentum temporarly until I was seen by GI as he said it had very little side affects...so I think that was his reason for it. The GI changed it to Mexavant XL - Mesalazine on day of colonoscopy as I had alot of inflamation in rectum and lower colon and he said it was obvious the dipentum wasnt working. He even showed me pics of the inflamed area. Thats why I can't understand how biopsies were normal.
Apologies for long reply but thought it might help you to understand why I am so confused.
