I eat LOTS of veggies, fruits, yogurt, eggs, meat/fish/poultry, nuts (no peanuts), sometimes grains (except corn) like yeast-free tortillas, high fiber cereal, yeast-free millet bread, brown rice, occasionally pasta....maybe one or two servings of grains a day. I do have baked goodies from time to time. I am human, after all :) For me, the key is moderation. I know if I go back to eating yeast bread everyday like I used to, along with other processed sugar-laden foods, then I will probably get sick again. My UC symptoms were fungus related, so I try to keep my diet somewhat lo-carb.
As I have IBS tendancies as well, I find that I can't eat any bread with yeast, any fast foods, or sweets (packaged or homemade) without the symptoms kicking in after a period of overindulgence. If I do eat any packaged food, I always check for low sugar content and no yeast or yeast derivatives...and it is disguised in a lot of foods. As well, any artificial sugar at all puts me over the edge, even in a stick of gum.
Can you get Truvia in Canada?
