Colazal is designed for left siders and Asacol is designed for the whole colon but it sometimes doesn't reach the left side on down which is why Colazal was created. Asacol is mainly driven by the ph level in the colon. If the ph level isn't correct, it can not break down properly. But essentially when the ph level is correct, it can coat the entire colon.

i have been taking salofalk granules for at least a year now and they are great.

easier to take, yummy, and they get all the way to the end. the access the entire colon.
they do get to the rectum cuz last colonoscopy doctor said he saw the little granules throughout my whole colon even in rectum to the very bottom.
