Starting Infliximab today, anyone else on it

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and Ulcerative Colitis in general.
I was only diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I have UC in my rectum and the bottom of my colon. It was diagnosed as acute UC, but I have been resistant to all the drugs they have tried and this would seem to be the only road left before they have to remove my Colon.
I am only 31 years old with two small girls 23 months and 10 months.
I have probably had the disease for a few years, but have put all my problems down to having my children so close together.

anyway what I would like to know is, has anyone else used Infliximab and if so how have you found it.

Also what other supplements, probiotics etc are you using to help with the problems around the lack of immunity?

Any advice will be greatly accepted as I have no idea what is happening

Hi Imac

Welcome to HW. I am sure you would find lot of support out here. In so far as Infliximab is concerned, there are lots of members on this forum, who are using Infliximab- the said drug is sold under the brand name Remicade in the US and Infliximab in India and the U.K. Lots of people are of the opinion that the same is very good for treating Crohns and UC.

Please surf the threads under Remicade - few people out here know it by the name Infliximab.
