I had my colonoscpy and EDG yesterday and the doc found nothing, so I am very frustrated.

I thought it was weird though, after my prep the night before (horrible experience), I was passing a lot of mucus the day of my procedure. Has anyone else experienced this and gotten a diagnosis?

I mentioned it to my Doc, but said it was probably IBD and gave me a script for levbid. Anyone else ever use levbid? Does work? How long before it "kicks in"?

Are you waiting for a diagnosis? I was thinking you had already been diagnosed with UC?

It is not uncommon for a doc to find nothing when you are feeling fine. I have had scopes while in remission where the doctor says he would have never known I had UC.

Yes, I have never been diagnosed with anything. I had what I was assuming was a UC Flare (based on family history), but the flare toned it down because it took so long to get into the GI docs office.

They took some biopsies so hopefully those will show something. I just hate not knowing what it is that making so miserable.

I think the doc said he thinks you have IBS, hence the prescription of Levbid.

The prep irritates the colon stressing it a bit...so I'm not surprised you had mucus.

Many with IBS produce lots of mucus....kind of like getting phlegmy after eating something ice cold or coughing for a while.

Hope the biopsies show something. Do make sure you get a copy of the results...when do you go back for them?

I have a follow up appointment on the 19th.

I'm also having the barium drink/x-ray thing done tomorrow to see if I have something wrong with my small bowel.
