What "part" is 4 inches right of belly button?

I have UC and its always been only left sided, but the last few days i have gotten needle pains about
4 inches right of BB, worrys me since i am considering surgery, i want to make sure its not a Crohns pain

Abdominal pain is tricky, because it doesn't always hurt right where the problem is. The appendix is on the lower right, but I've seem people with appendicitis who had pain just under their rib cage.
That said, 4 inches to the right could be colon, small intestine, liver. Or it could be referred pain from the left colon. If you're unsure after you talk to the doctor, consider asking for an upper GI evaluation before surgery.

well thats good to know, thanks, which leads me to wonder..do they take out the appendix when doing the jpouch surg? i know its right there, so i would assume they would.?

The appendix is attached to the colon so once the colon goes, the appendix goes with it!

Appendicitis, kidney infection or stone, referred pain from gallbladder... just a few things.
