I also get boughts of acid reflux but 1 zantac usually takes care of it. I think it might have to do with how we breathe. When we're dealing with flares or not feeling well, we tend to breathe in more air and I think that might add to the problem. I;m not really sure but you're not alone.
Thanks for the reply. That's interesting -- I never thought about
my breathing habits changing with the onset of a flare, and possibly being the cause (even though burping/acid reflux usually is caused by swallowing air, etc). I'll have to pay more attention to that.

Maybe it's the signals, so to say, meaning there is more constipation with low in the rectum...which in turn would slow peristalsis.
That's why it improves as your flare worsens...higher in the rectum and higher produces more frequency in bms...more active peristalsis, etc.
As well...improving with meds will also normalise bms and peristalsis.
