hello everybody :)
haven't been for a while cause felt rather good, no flare for almost a year if not count a pair of times of seeing blood... and still feeling good if talking about UC. But some 2 months ago out of the blue I got some reumatic fever, in 15 minutes I felt completely immobile, I could not move my knees, then my feet6 and finally I could not move at all. Next morning I managed to see a rheumatologist, and she found my CRP was 58 and lots of liquid in my knees. She said it was not rheumatic arthrytis, but could not diagnose what was that and came to the conclusion that this must be a result of UC. She prescribed Piroxicamum, I am taking it from time to time, when it gets worse and it seems to help at the time, but the condition still repeats, not anymore that bad, but bad enough. And she, the rheumatologist said that most probably I will have to reconsider and to go on sulphasalazine instead of mesalazine for a few years, as she never heard that both of them could be taken, and that both of them are very similar just sulphasalazine works more on joints and mesalazine more on intestine. So I am really confused now, as I tolerate mesalazine really well and it does help me, and I am afraid that UC could return on flare if I change my medications. Have anyone heard about combining these two meds and if sulphasalazine could really help me with UC? And about such condition, what that might be? I prefer staying on mesalazine, but I have no idea how my joints condition might progress if I not change my medications. Or maybe there are some other medications, for both conditions? Any ideas, please share:)
