I have been in a flare for roughly 8 months. I have been taking Lialda daily with little to no improvement. I used Colocort 100mg for a month and it seemed to control bleeds a little but as soon as I stopped using it BAM!

I had some 25mg Hydrocortisone Acetate Suppositories left over from a previous flare and they stopped the bleed within 1 day!

Is the reason that this works for proctitis so well is that it doesn't go higher into the colon and it is restricted to the bottom part?

Yeah, that last portion is hardest to get healed it seems.

Yes it is...ulcerative proctitis is extremely stubborn. Seems like it has a mind of its own, scary.

are you still on the pred?

Have you not tried any of the 5-ASA enemas?

Oral meds are NOT enough to treat and maintain the rectum inflammation...rectal meds just seem such common sensed, don't you think?
