I saw my new GI doc last week. He was an interesting person. He told me that he felt I was being under treated and that I should not be afraid of the 6mps. He is giving me another colonoscopy because he wants to "see" for himself to make sure he is not over/under treating me. He feels that my current regimin of colozal and canasa isn't working and will probably switch me to another drug in the same class at minimum, but probably 6mp if he doesn't like what he sees "inside". Kinda nervous about
the whole thing.

Have you read all the posts about
6mp on here yet? If not, do a search and check out all the info about
it. It sounds like the new GI is going to be a good one yes?

I've actually heard that the majority of GI's do actually underprescribe to their patients and that's why so many patients don't find full remission from their meds and/or have short-lived remissions.

I think he is going to be a good one. He seems more passionate than my old GI doc and is serious about
getting his paitents in remission. I like to have my hand held a bit, so his partner does that...LOL!

Sounds like your experience was overall a good one - a good start! I will be curious to see how it goes with my new GI next week. (I was very attached to my old one.) I'm planning to jot down a list of questions so I can figure out where he stands on things - what meds to try next (when needed), alternative/complementary stuff, etc.
