We just got Metlife and mine was actually cheaper than intitially quoted and cheaper than my husband's who is the same age. I can't remember the amount of coverage on either of us - but they originally quoted us $105 per month and it dropped to $70-ish. I asked the guy why mine dropped and he didn't have any information to offer other than it was all actuarial.
I was actually a little floored that out of all of the bad diseases out there, UC was on the list of 10 diseases on the questionaire. As horrible and annoying as UC can be I find it hard to believe it falls in the same life expectancy category as cancer or smoking or drinking for that matter.
Another interesting tidbit that I just read an article on MSN is that if you take the medical test the results (good or bad) are dumped in a national database for all insurance companies to access. So . . . . if you got rejected for coverage due to the results of the medical test, it might be tough to find coverage from another company.
