2nd Remicade Treatment

 I had my second Remicade infusion last Friday.  All went well it took five and a half hours and was boring just sitting there.  I brought my netbook and played on it most of the time as well as my mp3 player to help pass the time.  Two treatments down and well I feel a little better and only in the bathroom about 12 times a day now. I still am on the prednisone at 40 down from 60.

My left ankle and foot started swelling up about a week before my second treatment. I mean really swelling up twice the normal size for me. I don’t know if it’s the Prednisone or the Remicade that is causing it to swell.  The Prednisone has caused so many problems like sudden mood swings and up all night and just no motivation to do anything. I hope to taper off this stuff real soon, but don’t want to start bleeding again.

This group has helped me pass the early morning hours when everyone else is sound asleep here at the house. I have found encouragement and hope in all the post I have found on here. Everyone is in the same boat as me and well it’s nice to know I am not by myself in this illness.

I take a book to read, and big crossword puzzle (that usually takes me a week to finish). But I'm done in about 3 hours (400 dose).

I hope the Remicade starts doing more for you, so you can finally get off the prednisone. I got results immediately. Presnisone is wild stuff, but when you're really bad you can be grateful for it.

Consider maybe it's something else entirely that is causes your ankle to swell? Not everything that happens to us is a side effect from our meds, although it's the first suspect!
