Hi All
I've decided to take a few minutes away from staring at my bowel movements (I started taking Metamucil on Sunday, and I haven't seen bowel movements like this since I was diagnosed in 1990). From the sounds of a few of you, you have found the same. I can't get over that it was actually possible. I might actually be kind of normal.
I wanted to get some opinions on something. I had a REAL rough time in London on vacation, apparently toilets aren't big on their budget agenda. I also got laughed at by a pharmacist when I asked for adult diapers. And who knew that when you're carrying your soiled underwear around in a garbage bag, you can't find any garbage cans to throw them in.
So anyways, I got back to BC (which of course now stands for Better Crappers) and on Aug 25, started on 50mg of prednisone, which I was going to take until I had my Remicade infusion yesterday (as per my consult with my GP). However, in the meantime, I was able to get in to get a colonoscopy with my specialist for next Wednesday. My bowels still aren't as good as I would like (despite the Metamusil fascination). Instead of going back to my GP about revising the prednisone, I'd rather leave the prednisone the way it is until the colonoscopy, and find out what my specialist thinks. That would put me on 50mg of prednisone for 17 days. I would love to hear people's opinions on whether they think this is a good idea.
