hi everyone. i just got back from my G.I. he's taking me off the asacol & wants me to start Lialda tomorrow morning.

Is anyone else taking this?Does it work?

he wants to me to do 3 tabs every morning.which is better then the 12tabs of asacol i take a day

& of course continue with the pred

i still have this unbearable headache! it tricks me by going away i get so happy & then it comes back a few hours later! ughhhhhhh

I just started Lialda myself. I worked up to the 3 pills a day. I'm only on day 5 and I haven't noticed a difference yet. Keep us posted.

Yes, I have been on it for about 2 years and it has worked very well for me. I am currently taking 3 a day - all in the morning with breakfast. I have not had any side effects. Lialda has helped lessen the frequency of my flares and has helped make the flares I do have less severe...I hope it helps you. Please feel free to ask me any questions about it as you go forward, not many people have been on it as long as I have it seems...

yeah my doctor said that its suppose to be better & that he just recently started prescribing it more because people have had good results with it.i hope im one of them! :)

I hope you are too - it is nice to only take 3 pills once a day! I have gotten down to as little as 1 a day at times...very nice!

I was on it for about 3 months. It worked great for me and the just stopped cold. I spent the last year on Colazal which was ok but I went into a flare and it wasn't as effective. I'm now on Apriso and it seems to be working better than the Colazal. I'm also tapering off Pred. I'm down to 5 mg and hoping to get off completely by the end of the month.

It seems everything is just trail and error. I hope the Lialda works for you.

My son got vicious headaches on sulfasalazine and his doctor switched him to Lialda and his headaches have all but vanished. Just the occasional run of the mill headaches. He was taking 4 Lialda (2 am & 2 pm) while flaring, but now that he is back in remission he just takes 2 per day.

3 Lialda is 1200 mg less than you currently take. If you see symptoms, you may want to take 4 which would be equal to your current dose.
