So, they say you're not supposed to go swimming if you have diarrhea. Well, if you have UC and nothing infectious, is it still a bad idea to go swimming?

Well, I may be biased. Put myself through college on a swimming scholarship with UC. Go for it.

Go for it (....and have your getaway planned, just in case an accident happens!).

I haven't been swimming all summer because of a flare. Afraid of the bacteria in the water, especially the ocean at the Jersey shore..ugh.

Who is they?
What kind of water are they talking about
? Lake water?
I would think water would be good for flares (assuming there's no bad bacteria in it that is).
I plan to go hiking up one of the rivers in California on Monday. So I hope it's not a factor in triggering flares.

I would say yes as long as you don't have diarrhea in the pool. lol... We have our own pool and I swim in it all the time. I don't put my head below the water just the same, plus I don't want to get my colored hair wet.
