Canasa in the morning. also does Canasa go bad?

Hi ive been on 1000 mil. Canasa at night before i go to bed. wake up 2 bowel movements and im ok the rest if the day it seems till late afternoon. then i go again with mucus and blood. I might do that one or two times. I had these 500 mil Canasa from my first flare which was about 4 years ago. It says discard after 8/2006. Ive used a few of them before i went to my GI and got the new 1000 mil. Do these go bad? i want to start using them in the morning, actually just stuck one up there today. The only thing i noticed was that they were not a slippery on the outside as the new ones. thanks

I guess your butt will tell if they work or not. You can quickly run them under warm water before insertion.

     If they expired three years ago, I wouldn't use them.  How about Cort enemas?  Have you tried them?  They seem to help me.

I heard that drugs are ineffective when they go bad but they won't hurt you. I am not a doctor or anything so I am not sure if this is the case but it's what I have always believed.

I used some old ones this past winter and they didn't seem as effective. I was thinking the Canasa wasn't helping. But when I used them up and got my new prescription, it was, "WOW! These things are MAGIC! They work!!!"
That's how I figured out the old ones had not worked.
