     Any of you use Anusol for internal hemorrhoids?  I have been off prednisone for two weeks but bleeding from the rectum started on Monday.  It is only on the toilet paper when I wipe.  I see no blood in the stool which is formed.  I go to my GI next week but called him today because of the blood.  I had a sigmoidoscope with biopsies performed in May...so I presume it isn't cancer.  Sure HOPE not.  I thought I was in remission until this bleeding started but it doesn't "feel" like a flare is beginning eyes

It's funny that you posted this because I just got off the phone with my GI's nurse. I've been having a heck of a time with my hemmies right now that I am hoping to get something that works to shrink them. She is going to ask one of the other docs (because my GI is out of town at the moment) to see what I can do for them. Mine are somewhat internal and somewhat external. I see a tiny bit of bleeding on the tp as well as my bm. So my view is if the doc is going to prescribe a steroid supp for the hemmies it might help if it is the beginning of a flare as well. So this may be the case for you too. I also don't feel like I'm flaring from my Uc, just have a bit of the tush tenderness and bleeding.

     Sherry....do you use Canasa?  I had been using them since the doctor prescribed them in May when I started a flare.  However, about two weeks ago or so they burned me like fire when I stuck them up my rectum.  They never bothered me before.  I presumed they irritated the hemorrhoids.  I stopped using them.  I also tapered off the Cort enemas when I was finished with the prednisone.  Feels soooo good to be off extra meds.  I HATE taking any kind of medicine.  I would much rather take natural remedies but know that I cannot do that.  I am down to six Colazal per day too, along with the 50 mgm of 6MP.  That is about it for the UC meds. yeah

No unfortunately I can't take Canasa as I am allergic to mesalamines. My GI's nurse called back and the doc their is prescribing me a hydrocortisone cream. I am not sure if this will work considering that mine are half in and half out. But we shall see. I know what you mean about the medicine! I hate taking these things too but hey, at least they're keeping me (and probably you too!) feeling halfway decent! LOL

My doctor said that only hydrocortisone will only help the itching and burning and not shrink them. Is that right? She did say a steroid suppository would help but mine is (WAS! =D ) on the outside (witch hazel was awesome for it). Does Prep H up the bum not work?

I am suffering really bad right now from them. I thought I would need to have them fixed but at my flex sig he said they weren't very bad. They are really bleeding. I can feel them hanging out. He ordered something called Analpram. Started it two days ago. I think it might be helping. The tucks and Prep H. didn't really help me. I have been soaking in Epsom salt baths also. I hope they heal up soon. I could hardly sit down yesterday.

     Oh ...sorry to hear you are suffering so with those hemorrhoids Sherry.  I saw blood on the toilet paper but not actually in the stool on Monday, Tues and Wed.  Yesterday I called the GI doctor and miraculously, the blood disappeared ..lol.  Isn't that always the way?  I did strain my back by lifting a heavy drawer last week and think the hemorrhoids must have bled from that.  I have no pain, itching or burning though.
