Do SSRI's like Prozac cause intestinal bleeding?

Has anyone read recent medical reports that SSRI's like Prozac, Lexapro, etc. may cause intestinal bleeding? This is what I've read. Does anyone have any knowledge about this? I really want to take Prozac but not if there is even a slight chance  it will cause intestinal bleeding.

Yes, I have heard similar information. I have heard they can increase the potential for bleeding in general if the SSRI's are taken with aspiring and ibuprofin. In the back of my mind, I feel like the SSRI's had a hand in my developing colitis. I took zoloft for years. At the mayo clinic site, they do say zoloft and nexium have caused some cases of colitis. Mine is supposed to be a different kind of colitis but recently my pcp did the blood test from prometneus labs and my test for crohn's was positive 1:120. I think I have crohn's. lol... Anyway, I switched to wellbutrin xl recently. The SSRI's have too many GI side effects of constipation/diarrhea to suit me too. Did you take any of the SSRI's?

Thanks for the information. Actually, I started taking Prozac 3 weeks ago and I am experiencing flare symptoms. I noticed that a lot of people on this site take Prozac and other SSRI's so I thought I'd post and get their insight.

I have noticed a lot of people take effexor. Good luck with the prozac. I was on cymbalta and it caused my BP to go up significantly, so I had to stop it. Otherwise, I liked it ok. I wish I could get off these drugs, they all have such side effects but I have to take them.
