Hi everyone - tomorrow is my first colonoscopy with my new GI! I am doing the Miralax/Ducolax prep for the first time. I'm sure feeling great these days, UC-wise, so I'm hoping for a good report.

So, story #1: the woman from the hospital called to get my medical history. She said, "So... you've had one of these before....?" and I said, "Yes - this is my 24th." She laughed out loud and said, "I think I can skip the prep speech, unless you have some pointers for me! - "

Second story: so, clear liquids today and I had to work 1/2 day. I went to an Italian Ice shop after and asked the guy which flavors didn't have pulp. He looked at me and asked... "Clear....? Um... colonoscopy??" Turns out he has CD! So we started talking preps - I felt as if I was meeting one of you folks, it was fun - and then I noticed everyone else in the shop had become VERY quiet and were looking at us - LOL!!

That is a great story! I, too, am having a colonoscopy tomorrow, although mine is only the 3rd. I have finished prep and now just going to the bathroom. Good luck tomorrow and hope for great results!

Good luck with scopes! As an aside, how often have you had follow up scopes?? I had one in 2006 with no inflammation (pre diagnosis) and one in 2007 which diagnosed me officially with CD. What type of interval have you experienced with follow up scopes? I haven't been asymptomatic yet, but working on it. Thanks in advance.

Although this will only be my third and I might not be of much help...GI did one in July 2007 that diagnosed, had one July 2008 to see how I looked=as good as it could look for a UCer, and then my GI said 7 years...until this flare now in 2009. So go figure!

I've had follow-up scopes only 3 times, otherwise annually (except for when I was pregnant.)

Thanks for the laugh songlady...loved the reaction of the woman who called you regarding the prep, etc for the scope.

Very cool meeting someone who knew exactly why you were asking the question...lol..clearly others found your interaction interesting as well..

Too funny! Good luck on the scope as well as the rest of you that are having it done. I don't have to have mine for another 1 1/2 years *happy dance for me!* LOL
