First cold whilst on Azathioprine?

Two of my children have started with a cold and this evening i can feel myself coming down with it too, i've been on  Azathioprine for about 5 weeks now and at my last appointment my gastro nurse said my white cell count was just above normal so she was keeping a closer eye on it for now so i'm still on weekly bloods, however reading the leaflet it says if you get a cold whilst on it  you should contact your dr! It seems a bit of an over reaction for a cold though?? How has everyone else been when struck down by a virus on it and did you see a dr?

I have been on 3 immune suppressants and had colds. Aza, pred, goli(remi). I personally wouldn't go with a cold... absolutely nothing they are going to do for you anyway unless you are dehydrated and so sick you can't hold anything down. I have just waited it out with colds, even with the fevers. Just lets me know things are working properly with all the nasty side affects of the virus. My last cold, my immune system got so distracted it forgot about my colon for a few days, lol. In the end everyones a little different so like red_34 mentioned, you just have to listen to your body.

Thanks everyone, will keep an eye on my temp, so far it's fine though, just feeling a bit rubbish! Unfortunately when i get ill my body doesn't forget about my colon though lol, it always makes the u/c worse!
