getting on disability

I live in New York and am currently flaring up.I've had colitis since 1985[was in the hospital in 85 for 28 days-finally given pred thru IV which worked great] ,i've had small flares over the years[some blood-mucus-etc],i would do rowasa for a few days in a row and it would knock the flare down.This flare started with everything going right thru me,blood etc.It was pretty scary as my colitis had never flared this bad before,[except back in 85].So my DR. started me on 40mg pred-4 months ago,now down to 15mg.Started 50mg 6mp-9 weeks ago,started 75mg-6mp a few weeks back[my DR.tried to get me on HUMIRA,but insurance said no-it's only approved for chrons]. I can function much better now,most of my stools are diarrhea,i'm able to hold it in if i get the urge[praying while i hold it in-that it stays in].I have had some solid stools here and there.I started going to some support groups to help educate myself on how i can get myself back to normal.Now i only see some blood somtimes[-started rowasa again-which has kept the blood away] when i go in the morning,and usually i have most of my BMs in the morning.I work with a contractor,i pray that each job we do has no-one living in the house since i might be using the bathroom often.I'm wondering how some of you work on a flare-up and if you live in New York [or elsewhere],has anyone been able to get on disability because of there U.C .I PRAY FOR YOU ALL TO GET HEALTHY

I was extremely anemic and my flare has been out of control for months. denied disability in Louisiana. I don't know how needing blood transfusions, having fever constantly from the prednisone and constantly going doesn't qualify you for it. but I'm considering a disability lawyer. good luck to you.
