I have a huge headache due to sinusitis. Plus I just went to the dentist and found out I have periodontitis. He injected an antibiotic into my gum. Hopefully, I won't get another flare from the antibiotic since it is localized. And then I have issues with getting skin infections and inflammations.

It seems that most my life I've been on a cycle of antibiotics -> infections and inflammations -> antibiotics.

Anyone else get lots of infections and inflammations besides colitis?

I don't have too much of a problem with that sort of thing, but I wanted to comment about your periodontitis...I created a post last week after my dental visit. My hygenist commented that when another of her patients with UC had come in one time and had a lot more inflammation around her gums than what was normal and they couldn't figure out why (she hadn't been sick, no change in her normal dental hygine routine, etc). The next time this patient came in, she said she'd had one of her worst flares ever a couple of weeks after that visit (and, her gums were back to normal). So, it sounded like the gum inflammation was an early warning sign that she was starting a flare.

Did the dentist inject an antibiotic into your friend's gums?

Just wondering, although it is very likely that the inflammation around her gums was a sign that her body was off balance and thus easier to flare.

I, too, have to be very careful. I tend to flare when the weather is changing to winter. It's been changing lately, which is why I have sinusitis right now.

I think I had the periodontitisfor awhile. I noticed that pocket. I just didn't realize what it was, never having periodontitis before.

I have joint inflammation and problems with my eye getting infected. My GI told me that part of having uc are issues with inflammation in other areas of the body for some people. Don't you love this disease??????

I don't know. I don't even know the person...it was just another of the hygenists's patients who also has UC, and she (the hygenist) told me about it. I guess so that if I ever noticed that my gums were inflammed to be ultra-aware for UC symptoms. I don't believe they did any treatment, because it wasn't that bad and they couldn't identify a cause for the inflammation. It didn't sound like there was an active infection, just inflammation.

I have awful allergies and have for years. It is hard on my sinuses. I don't know if it would be considered sinusitis or if it's just head congestion. It tires me out. I also have migraines that are brutal around my period. Lately I have a tightening of my ankles when I sit still for too long and they will be very stiff when I get up. I also have some eczyma that drives me nuts. another thing is my cystic acne that pops up at the most inconvenient times. Luckily my teeth have been okay lately but I have had loads of cavities in the past. I floss every day now and have great looking teeth but under it all, they are not so good.
