I haven't heard of that one, but it sounds like vertigo is a common side effect for it. How long have you been on it? For the first month I was on effexor xr I had a lot of dizziness and side effects and they disappeared after time. I've had a lot of success with effexor for my GAD and slight OCD.

I take Lexapro. I've been taking it for about
a year and a half. It's been a real life saver for me. I used to suffer from severe depression and social anxieties. Now I don't. I've overcome a lot of my anxieties during the time that I've been on Lexapro. So much so that I know my doctor is going to want to wean me off it soon. I have no idea how I'm going to do that. I get so depressed when I skip a day or two.

I've also had good luck with Effexor XR as far as the anxiety goes. The only problem I have with it is that I do experience one of its side effects: excessive sweating. I'm thinking of weaning off of it and see if I can do okay without it because the sweating is driving me nuts. It's my scalp, face and neck that sweats so it ruins my makeup and hair. I was on Wellbutrin XR for awhile, too. It was okay.

I had postpartum anxiety/depression and took sertraline (zoloft) for abuot 6-7 months...it helped tremendously. I weaned off a while back and seem to be ok.

My GI doctor prescribed lorazapam for me too. I think that is generic for xanax. The dose is 0.5 mgm. I only had to take a few while in a flare, but now since I am off the prednisone and somewhat in remission, I don't need it.

I have been on alprazolam (Xanax) for a few years - even before diagnosis - for anxiety attacks, etc. I Tried two others before. Xanax just relaxes me and helps me "cope" - no other side effects.
