When looking for a fish oil supplement without a fishy taste someone here recommended Coromega.  I was able to get a week's worth to try.  It tastes good - orange packet.  However, now I am burping orange instead of fish - all day.  I will take what I have left - it is expensive.  BUT - moving on to finding something that does not "come back" all day long.  My new specialist recommended it to help the UC inflammation.

Hi...try to take some lipase to help digest the fish oil. Apparently, that's what all should use when taking it. Some of the fish oil supplements have lipase in them.

Check yours...

Oh, some people do not do well in digesting oils....I actually don't feel good while on fish oils....maybe if they made a lower dosage.

Since yours is in a packet, maybe mix half the amount instead of a full amount.

I assume that is a digestive enzyme which I have never taken.  I know yesterday I tasted the orange for several hours and had stomach problems and looser stool this morning.  I think I will hang on to the packets (they are lilquid inside by the way) for a while and try again later.  Dr. MacDermott - new doctor - recommended Omega 3 to heal the colon.  When I told him it did not "agree" with me - he shook his head - he knows me by now - NOTHING agrees with me but white bread and peanut butter LOL! 

I am at a good place with the UC right now and don't want to rock the boat.  Just vitamin D definicient along with many others so taking extra for a while and then more blood tests.  NP said I was on the low side of ok.

NOW - if I could get rid of the aches and pains of my arms - oh well!

You might be on a too high dosage of fish oil...and it doesn't agree with everyone contrary to what might be the agreed results of taking it. The trick is to find one that is OK...which costs money and time.


You could try the Robaxacet...

You could enquire about massage or accupuncture.

While you sleep, you could hug a pillow...that will take some of the pressure off your neck/shoulders.

Oh, and use a pillow between your legs while sleeping on your back.

I can relate bigtime with neck/shoulder issues....

Robaxacet...seems to be Canadian.  No doubt something like that would put me to sleep like all other such medication. 

I have been thinking about all treatments but not sure which doctor to see or where to start.  I will give the pain another couple weeks and then it will be 3 months since stopping prednisone.  Like Dr. A says depends on what kind of treatment I might be looking for.  Right now just thinking the rheumy I went to before as she is very nice.  I saw her for my knees before the ortho doctor - she did shots of cortisone.

As for sleeping - I can only sleep on my side and like my arm under my head.  I am having hard time finding any other way.  On my back makes me dizzy.  Hard to teach OLD ladies new tricks LOL!

Thanks for your suggestions as usual.  You certainly convinced me about rectal meds so keep up the good work!

By the way, the fish oil packets are 2000 mg.
