Found a new recipe online today. It can be used as a snack or a breakfast cereal.
4 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup Canola Oil
1 tspn Vanilla
Mix all dry ingred in large bowl. Mix all wet ingred in a smaller bowl. Add wet to dry and stir thoroughly to coat. Spread in a thin layer on a cookie sheet. Bake in oven 10 minutes at 325. Turn mixture over and bake 10 more minutes. Cool and store in air tight container.
You can use as a granola snack or dump milk on it and have as cereal in the morning. I added Dried berries and sliced almonds to mine. I also tried a second batch and substituted maple syrup for the honey, I added a little brown sugar and cinnamon to the wet mix.
I try to limit my gluten intake and this should be good for me. I also have few handfulls of sunflower seeds a day, this will be a different weigh to get those in.
For those of you that like hot cooked cereal in the morning I figure this should work also. Just cook like regular oatmeal... but since its already roasted... it tastes good like it is. I'm sure there is no end to the variations you could add to this.
