Low dose Naltrexone?

Has anyone here tried using low-dose naltrexone (ldn) for UC? It's been studies with Chrohn's and only there have been a few anecdotes regarding UC. It supposedly does some upregulating with the immune system and helps with pain and inflamation. The drug origianally used to get heroin addicts off and cope with withdrawal symptoms. Penn State just did another follow up study on its use with Chrohn's disease.

There are a few people here who have tried it but I have heard very mixed results. I have probably heard of more people without improvement than with. I would give it a try before having surgery but I wouldn't expect a miracle.

I tried it and it gave me really bad joint and muscle pain. I was having trouble walking because I was in so much pain. I had to stop taking it and within a few days the pain went away. I was disappointed that I couldn't tolerate it, I was hoping it would be my miracle drug.
