The commercials during the show (House) they offer little tid-bits related to the show and or some of the actors...a few weeks a go one of the tid-bits was they have 3 actual medical doctors and one specialist to confirm that proper medical information is given in the show...
I saw the episode tonight where 13 said the words "extraintestinal crohn's", and as you've mentioned there are extraintestinal manifestations of crohn's so with the patient in the show actually starting out with severe eye issues, that may have been where the word extraintestinal was derived from (to be written into 13's lines), but I agree it came across incorrectly when she stated it the way she did, you'd think the actual docs and specialists they use to help write the show to have correct medical info would have been more precise than that but I guess it just goes to show many docs/specialists still have much to learn when it comes to IBD.
The thing abut the worms can certainly happen, unfortunately it's not working for all crohnies that have tried or are using that therapy...here's a link about it...
