I asked my GI about this. He said that any meds which can be taken with food can be taken with Metamucil with no effect. Any meds that are to be taken on an empty stomach or between meals should be taken 2 hours before or after Metamucil.

This clarifies the issue for me, and I'll continue taking Metamucil before lunch and Asacol with lunch.

Interesting info and it definitely makes sense. I started Metamucil in July and have seen a world of difference but have been staggering it every 2 hours with my Asacol and now I don't have to - thanks for sharing!!
