not able to figure out if i am flaring or is is normal?

I was in remission from june-October'09 with i Lialda X 2 per day + 1 Canasa daily but since October I have blood & mucus for 3-4 days then followed by a week without any symptom. i am not sure if i am flaring. Infact earlier i had reduced canasa to just 1 at night then i upped it to 2 a day since last month. Also, have flu since last one week & the symptom have increased since past 2 days. I am taking only Nyquil for flu & hopefully will recover completely with 2-3 days.
Should i stick to my medication & is it just slight flareup which should calm down soon....are such flare ups normal? have never had such flare-normal-flare-normal stuff before!
