hey ,,I take tylenol w. codine for pain and it stops me from going. In a bout i go 20 times in am ,,,,,on a reg day 6,,,I have IBS also .....This has been a lifesaver for me ,,Anbody else? I am suffering a bout now ,,its helping form running , but the queasines does continue!!! 

..diagnosed while 8 weeks pregnant...let sided UC ,,,hyomax,,,,,prednisone and tylenol # 3 w. codine

Yes, the codiene constipates some people, so it will slow down the D.

When my GI was in the process of figuring out what was going on with me (he'd ruled out infectious causes and we were waiting on my c-scope), he prescribed me tylenol with codeine because nothing else (immodium, lomotil, pepto, etc) worked to slow down the diarrhea. I was going like 15-20x's/day, and it slowed it down to 8 or so.

     Be careful..that can become addicting.  Also, Tylenol can cause liver damage and the Tylenol with codeine contains 500 mgm of tylenol.  I know it does work wonders for pain as I was on it last year after being discharged from the hospital.  I had severe pain from the UC even down into both my legs.

And seconding what Eva Lou said about being careful with it. My script did not have any refills and my GI said he was only doing this to give me some temporary relief.
