What's with the blood at the end?

Hello all:

Well I've been battling this lil relapse and it's going pretty well except...

When I have a BM there's usually blood after the fact.  It doesn't appear to be mixed in with the BM but like it drips out after.  Not alot, just a few drops maybe.  I'm sure I've got a hemi or two, could they bleed that much?  I never thought they could but I'm not sure.

Also I know I've still got some rectal inflammation...get a bit of urgency in the morning...I suppose to get rid of the leftover enema.  I'm on them nightly now btw, I know my siggy says different.

So, any thoughts on the blood? 

Oh, I'm also take another probiotic in the am, Culturelle, to try to get past this.  Everything else is ok, the days are fine, I usually just have the BM in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon but it's formed mostly.

I have a little blood just about everytime as well. Mine is mixed with the stool and a very small amount. The doc said yesterday it's not "normal" after a month of Rowasa and Asacol, but it could be my baseline based on the fact that my other symtoms have improved completely. I showed him a picture of the blood and he said it did not concern him at all.

He said it could also be trauma from the Rowasa...

Wouldn't a fissure cause intense pain?  The pain feels like a hemi when the BM is passing through.  I just didn't know a hemi would/could bleed that much.  If any of you can tell me it can...then I'm thinking that's what it is.  Either that or the end of this flare.  

Plus I'm on my period...which doesn't help these things for me

I made mention to my GI some months ago about my bleeding hemmie and that I didn't think a they can bleed that much and he just sort of chuckles along with his nurse and said "You would be surprised at how much they can bleed!" So yes, a hemmie can bleed a lot. I've even heard of stories of people losing a lot of blood and needing transfusions from hemmie complications.

Yeah, most people assume that hemmies are harmless albeit annoying, itchy and painful things to have but they can be quite serious for some.

I can usually tell if the blood is from a hemmie or my Uc. With a hemmie it's usually bright red blood with some discomfort or itchiness. And the blood from my Uc comes the whole shebang, white knuckle pain, left side pain, darker red blood and D.

I know when I first started getting my hemmie (it's both internal and slightly external) and I saw blood I sort of freaked a bit because I was in remission and thought "Oh Crap! Not again!" But then I had a c-scope which showed I was truly in remission but my GI confirmed that I did indeed have a hemmie.  He also said as long as I am not having the typical Uc symptoms then the blood I am having is more then likely from the hemmie (I use a steroid cream for it).  I guess he figured I've had this long enough that I can tell when a flare is looming.
