I have used slippery elm as part of an enema (in combination with comfrey and marshmallow root powders) - have never taken it orally. The enema is the first thing I do after a colonoscopy - very effective at hastening the healing process. I also use it on occasion (perhaps once a month) to deal with any lingering inflammation.
I seem to recall that people need to be careful about how much slippery elm they consume if taken orally. Don't recall the details. Presumably your doctor has some idea? I would definitely check with him/her about that before proceeding.

Hi ickypoo
Can you tell me in detail how to do a 'slippery elm' enema
