UC and College...need advice

I am currently enrolled in college.  I am a mature student, 32..but wanted to boarden my passion for my field and decided to go back to school.  I was diagnosed with UC in 2007.  I love my program,  but have two issues with it, due to my UC.  We have two week long camping field trips.  I knew this upon applying for the program, but didn't think it would pose an issue at all.

I am usually good..but sometimes go to the washroom 3-5 times a day.  Depending on the day, how I am feel, stress level.

We had our first week long camp back in the fall, that I had to miss out on, due to my colistis acting up.  If it was a 2 day thing..I could have managed, but a week. I have to do it next year...plus the 2nd one that is for 2nd year.  So, next year I will have to do two.  Each of these field outings, count as a course. 

I have been seriously thining of trying to get exempted from this two.  Anyone appealed a course...due to a medical issue?   

I would encourage you to speak with your professors about this. Being a professor myself I can assure you that, by and large, we are a pretty understanding lot and want our students to succeed. I find it difficult to envision a situation within university curricula that cannot be modified in some way to deal with special circumstances. As long as the learning objectives are achieved, it should not matter how you get there.

Who knows, maybe they have dealt with a similar problem in the past and some ready made solution is available. But you may never find out unless you take the initiative.

Pardon my curiosity, but what kind of program are you in?
