What's the diff between, UC, "non-specific" colitis, and IBS

I had a colonoscopy two months ago while in the hospital. They said I had mild inflamation and "non-specific" colitis.

Saw my GI for the first time today. He did NOT do my colonoscopy and is leaning more toward IBS.

I've only had one episode of bleeding and for the most I can control my bowels dispite going poop 4-6 times a day.

Hi...UC is a "colitis"...specific.

Colitis is inflammation in the colon.

Non-specific means it's not identified as the kind or cause.

IBS isn't a "colitis"....except it has been called mucus colitis, incorrectly so.

If you've got chronic bms of 6 times a day and had bled, I wouldn't call it IBS.

Do you have a copy of your c-scope pathology report?

Also to add to Quincy's post, IBS does not cause inflammation in the colon.
