Surgery for removing cyst - any advice?

My gyn/ob said that i need to remove the dermoid cyst i have in my ovary.... though this thing never troubled me ...it just showed up when looking for something else. But he says this needs to go.... HE suggested laparoscopy... i told him that i am having a flare up...he said he would take care and give me some steroid injection so that my body which is already stressed does not get more stressed. He is a very knowledgeable doctor & i guess he knows what he is doing.... i am still little worried how my body will react! Any suggestion anyone would like to give me...something i need to tell my ob/gyn? Date for the laparoscopy procedure is still not set.... will come to know within a couple of days... could be this month or even in April.

I had a 6cm cyst drained on my ovary about 8 years ago (yes, it was that huge and I was in extreme pain). I had no trouble whatsoever with the laproscopic procedure. The only thing that might bother you is the air they insert to see into that area. I had some transferred pain into my right shoulder but peppermint tea took care of that. I was also slightly constipated from the procedure but I didn't mind much because I too was flaring at the time.
