I have super painful constipation all of the time. Any suggestions? I have tried psyllium and it just makes everything worse. I am in constant flare, so I am beside myself.

I would try rectal meds. Enemas and maybe also suppositories?
Are you on any oral meds? Do you know what kind of UC you have? (left-sided, pancolitis, etc)

I use a canasa suppository every night, but I don't see any results. Should rectal meds be addressing the constipation?
I have UP, but I think it has gone on farther. I have an appt. with the MD next week.

I think constipation is a sign of low rectal inflammation, but a suppository might not be reaching it. You should see if an enema helps.

A rowasa type enema?
Thanks,

Yeah I'd try that, unless it's really bad then maybe a steroid one. Just make sure you take the Rowasa nightly and don't taper off til things are looking better. Hopefully your doctor will be more cooperative than mine and give you enough.
