Great news! The prednisone did the job and I am in remission according to how everything looks. 
I can now completely wean off of it and then hopefully all of the stomach pain that I have been having will disappear. My GI told me that if I have to go back on prednisone in the near future (3-6 months), that he would then like to prescribe Imuran instead.....I am staying positive and am going to do everything I can to stay in remission.
