FUNNY story re hosp and UC

I was just reading the people not understanding UC.... and, thinking of being "outed" as someone with IBD, I remembered this:

My second hospitalization for UC, within the first year of my diagnosis. A small but good hospital.
My maiden name was Bonwell. WELLLLLLLL..... on the name sign above my bed, they'd written in capital letters:

BOWELL

LOLOL!!! My GI and I laughed about that for years and years!!!!!!!!!!

I think that little scenario got me past being embarrassed or even "private" about my IBD - though I pick and choose; I don't talk about it with colleagues much, only if absolutely necessary (like in a flare that will affect work) because I don't want to be treated "differently" on a professional level.

Wow, just wow. That's so funny!

So funny! The person who wrote that must have been mortified when they realized...

     LOL...that IS funny.  It reminds me of my ex son in law's mother's situation.  Her former last name was Leakan and on her desk was her name plate with her first two initials preceeding her last name, it read:

 

        I. M. Leakan
