after 15 years of sulfasalizine....i am switching to asacol, how does/did everyone like it? better than lialda/colozal? just wondering before i start it tommorrow...im switching because the sulfasalizine seems to have stopped working...thanks for the info

well i am on asacol to but for me it seems to be working, my gastro told me to take 6 per day but it was giving me stomach achs and so now i take 1 per day and seems to be working!!!! no stomach achs, diarreah, or bloodnono so im happycool well i will try any MILD medicine designed for uc that out there before taking stronger meds!!!!sad

Geez, only 1 per day. I've never heard of that dosage. Can it help much at all? That would be my dream, one a day.

 Im on 4 tabs a day and salofalk enima at the minute.

These are my first drugs ever.

this is week 3

first few days some minor headaches, very minor throat swelling which got worse with a glass of wine lol so I topped the wine!

Its seems to dry my skin pretty well and ive got a few more zits here and there.

Other than that I have no bleeding, normal stools and no diarreah.

So so far its working great for me........fingers crossed.

I have been on Asacol since I was diagnosed with severe pancolitis in September. My GI basically told me that there was no way I would go into remission on it, but I told him I wanted to try it before jumping right into a 6mp. Well, here we are 5 months later and I am in remission!!

So for me it has worked great. I take 2 800 mg pills 3x a day.

3 months after I started taking it I noticed really bad hair loss (over half my head of hair) which I am now finding out is pretty common. We are thinking about maybe (stong maybe) changing to something else.
