How long does this drug stay in you? I stopped a month ago. Two weeks ago, experienced a week of fierce axiety -- throat to lower GI. Now I'm itching to death.
Could this be prednisone withdrawal? I was on for 4 months, tops 40 mg.

Is it possible that the itching is from Asacol? I've been on Asacol for more than four months and this is the first time I've itched all over.

Probably not, I'd say it's more likely the other meds you're on.
The itching....that could be your new psych meds, an allergy, anxiety or something going on with your liver.
Have you had a liver panel done lately?
I can understand your unease, it would be best to ask the doc about
the itching.

Heather, here's a thought. Itching is from Asacol (a side effect) and the prednisone I was on masked the allergic reaction. Prednisone is used to stop hives, etc...
What do you think of that?
But you are right about
one thing. I was only on Geodon for two or two and a half days. And severe itching is one of the side effects.
It's possible the itching has come from the Geodon but I was on it such a short period of time before discontinuing it cause it made me too sedated.
Always appreciate your advice, Heather

Once pred gets out of the system you could possibly re-act much more since not only is there no pred any more, but also your adrenals are not back in full force either. Could really be any med, or a mix of a few different ones.

Yes, could be the asacol....but I also know you're fixated on it as well.
I think it'll take a while for it all to be figured out but you do have a complicated med regimen....could be all, one or a combo.
Please get your liver enzymes checked.

I've started my prednisone taper. I was at 40mg for 4 months, now I'm at 20mg and I'm starting to get acne REALLY bad. Could this be a side effect from the taper?
