I might go on a teaching internship to Germany this summer and I was wanting to hear people's experiences taking medications abroad (especially if they involve Imuran or Germany), but all stories/tips/whatever will be welcome! I'm sure it'll be okay but I want to avoid problems =)

I imagine that if you carry it with you in your original prescript
ion bottle, you should be fine. I traveled to Spain in February 2008, but that was before I was diagnosed, and didn't have any Rx meds with me...just prenatal vitamins, because I had just found out I was pregnant.
Here's some info from the US Department of State as to what to do with meds. I know it's kind of generic, but it's something:

Thanks, I'll look at it. I was also on a German site and they said something about
an info sheet in German for the medication, I'm thinking I might ask if the pharmacy has one or can get one.

I went to Florida with my little apothecary. I was reading the TSA website and they said that as long as your meds are in their prescribed bottle and that you declare that you have them in your carry on (I would NEVER put my meds in my suitcase) you'll be fine on the U.S. portion of your flying. I'm not sure about
how Germans handle stuff like that but I'd look into it.

Well I can only talk about
my experience. I lived in Ireland and I had to get my meds but there a general doctor was able to make the prescript
ion.
I"m moving to the uk and I asked my pharmacist and I can bring my medications for a year or so, cause it's cheaper for me to do so here (I'm in Canada). I talked to the insurances and they don"t cover any medications or doctors visits that are related to a previous condition. They are there to save themselves money right? But I need to have a doctors note for the border agency explaining my situation .
If you go to Germany for a few weeks or months I would bring my own meds... then again im canadian and if you are in the usa I don"t know if it applies. But I wouldnt count on travel insurance companies to cover you.
Good luck!

I don't have any tips to contribute about
travelling with meds, but wanted to say how cool that opportunity is for you! Hope it works out, ElephantPipe!
