Yes, I want to reinforce what Heather said. If you have not had it checked out by an ophthalmologist please do. I have had Iritis and Uveitis many times and they symptoms can easily be confused with an eye infection. Even a general physician can miss the diagnosis because it can seem like an infection. The only way to know for sure that it is not an infection is to go to an ophthalmologist who can check for inflammation in the eyes. Iristis/Uvietis is actually not an infection but it is inflammation of the inner or outer layers of the eye and if not treated can lead to many serious complications. It is most commonly treated with pred eye drops. They are topical and do not cause any of the side-effects that oral pred causes. The symptoms are red, sore eye or eyes, often (but not always) sensitive to bright lights, sometimes the eye will be more red closer to the pupil but sometimes it is red all over. Usually it will hurt if you press on the eye. If you would like more information please feel free to contact me.
