interstitial cystitis

I have been told yesterday that I most likely have this..my symptoms come every few weeks and are very frequent peeing, pain low down in the bladder that radiates into the back and thighs at times, vaginal pain, overall feelng of having an bladder infection but NO infection found, tiny spots of blood in urine..

my case is probbaly mild as it did not show when the urologist did the cytoscopy. But apparently this is common in woman with IBD.

Anyone else have this?

It was thought that I had it but all was clear from the scope.

Who told you you probably have it?

You need another scope done to confirm....

yes, I was also told about the UC connection, but it's not common.

Do all the research, and get back to the urologist.

I had the scope done by the Urologist and she had said at the time it was not clear cut and was up to me if I wanted to treat it or not..depending on how bad I thought it was..I told her that it comes and goes about every month and that I have been coping with it..I just drink a lot of water when i feel the pain coming and i lie down..sometimes it radiates to the thighs and back so i am really curled up for relief..the pain usually goes away within an hour..
i pee alot.,.and i always have the feeling i have to pee even tho she said i can probably hold more than i think..
I followed up with my GP yesterday cause it was happening again and she said it really sounded like that

Your URO said that because its very painful but apparently not harmful..I am on the pill..getting off very soon though, I have done lots of research even before I had the scope and I had asked about this before I went and actaully asked about it before I had any tests done cause my symptoms sounded very very similar..
No I dont have endo
and yes I have had a full sono histogram and ultra sound the whole bit..this was to investigate spotting that i had all through my pregnancy and that continued on after the baby was born..it has stopped now..

I don't have interstitial cystitis but I do have chronic urinary retention, which means my bladder muscles are really tight and bascially I have the symptoms of a guy with prostate problems. I have had surgery to put slits in the muscles to make them not so tight. I have to pee like ALL the time becuase I don't empty my bladder all the way. Unsure if that's related to IBD at all or not.

do you get the feelings as if you are developing a UTI?

Hi all, I am kind of backwards from what it seems most of you are. I have already been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis and pelvic floor dysfunction and recently for the past 3-6 months have been intermittently having large amounts of blood in my stool. I knew a few weeks ago when I thought I was having period and it wasn’t that I needed to make an appointment. I have a colonoscopy scheduled in a week as my Pcp thinks I have UC. I have always thought my constant running to the bathroom or being constipated was just a part of my IC and pelvic floor issues. It wasn’t until the major blood with nearly ever bm that I started to think it could be something else.

My pint is, I am really starting to think there is a big connection with all of these diseases. Once you have one they all seem to snowball. (I also have chronic migraines as well.) Is there anyone in my shoes who has both ic and uc? Those that have uc would you please share what your symptoms were exactly, medicines (over the counter too) that help? I am happy to share info about ic as well! Thanks!
