     I am having such a bad day.  Just called my GI's office.  I told them I am trying so hard to hang in there for my colonoscopy scheduled for Friday but the urgency, cramping, toilet visits at least 15 today and bleeding, pressure in rectum is beyond belief today.

We are in a very similar situation. I am trying to hang in there for my flexible sigmoidoscopy in 2 weeks, but things are just getting worse for me.

I have lots of blood, mucus, gas, urgency, really bad cramping, no loose bm, more constipated, which is worse as when it comes out, it feels like it is getting stuck in my upper left colon. My rectal pressure is unbelievable. I am feeling so depressed about this flare, as it just wont back off, i am often crying as i just feel so overwhelmed.

I am also looking at surgery as my next option, but i am scared to death about it.

I really do sympathize about how you are feeling.

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for both of you and how sick you are feeling. I know that there is nothing I can do but send ((hugs)) to you, but please know I'm thinking about both of you. Take care.

Prayers being said for you both... I know it's hard but please stay positive and keep the stress down as it will all work out in time.

christine....I hope whatever you decide gets you some relief. have you called the GI to tell him what a bad state you're in at this point? he'd probably tell you to go to the hospital....

Let us know what's happening.

I am so sorry, Christine and Mercury. Christine, i was so hoping you would get some relief from that infusion and not have to go down this path.

I have to say, prepping for procedure really made me worse and was what prompted my spiral down and going into the hospital. And I have to be honest, being in the hospital, while not fun, definitely was the best thing for me. I am still flaring, but am so much better than I was prior to. My first remi infusion did help, and I am due for the second tomorrow. I am hoping it helps more, but I am not sure what to expect. Regardless, I was able to get the care I really needed by going in to the hospital, so it might be the best thing. Especially with the blood loss, you don't want to let things go too far.

Ugh. I am just so sorry. You both have my thoughts and prayers.

Mercury...I think surgery would be your best option considering you cannot take meds.

Hope you can get some reprieve before your scope in 2 weeks. That's a long time to wait with your severe symptoms.

I hope you're both feeling better. I am sorry that you have been feeling so terribly all day.

I am not doing so great either. Not quite bad but dealing with awful gas and insomnia. Not sure if the gas keeps me up or the drugs tongue  hah, it's definitely the drugs but I sit up in bed all night with the loudest gas. Not fun.

Praying you both get relief soon.  I have never had such serious symptoms but mine were bad enough so I feel so bad for your guys!!

My GI doctor called me about 5pm last evening. He is going to do a flex sig today at the surgical center. This will be done under sedation. We'll discuss all options following the procedure. The colonoscopy will not be performed.
Thanks all for your support. Just hope I can get the Fleets enema up there..ugh.

Could not tolerate the Fleets enema. It burned like fire!!!! Nothing but blood came out. Guess he will just have to do the best he can. Leaving in about 15 minutes, extremely anxious.
