I really hate my ex. He won't leave me alone. He gives me enough time between texts and phone calls and e-mails to let me think he's over me and then he sends something else. I've blocked his e-mail and Facebook. But he can still text. He claims to want to be friends or he wants to try again,and tonight he sent me three text messages asking about a cough he had my FRESHMAN year. I'm now a JUNIOR. I didn't notice then and I don't care now. His excuses get worse and worse, and I'm sick of him. It's always at night, if not past midnight. He dumped me (THANK GOD) so what's his deal? I get all frigging paranoid when he does this, especially considering the things he came close to doing when I was with him. I've told him repeatedly to not contact me in any way. I apparently have to pay to be able to block numbers?? I use T-Mobile.

What do I doooo? I'm not sure he even still goes to my school. I hope not. But I still can't stand this.

Hey ElephantPipe :)

  Do you ever acknowledge him when he contacts you?  My best advice is to completely igonre him when he contacts you in ANY way.. If it texts you, don't text him back, if he calls, don't answer or call him back... etc.. Completely shut him down..  He will get tired of contacting you and getting no response eventually and will stop..  My son's stepmother used to be obsessed with contacting me (GOD KNOWS WHY, she HATES me..) and the only way I could get her to stop is to compeltely act like she doesn't exsist.  WHen she email's me, I delete them, I don't respond to calls or anything. She finally gave up about 3 months ago and I haven't heard from her.. I still get an email once in a while, but it's rare now and getting less and less frequent..

Yeah after I told him a few times to leave me alone I started ignoring him. I just deleted what I got tonight. I just got really frustrated! I hope it starts working, 'cause I'd rather not sick my brother on him XD

Ignoring him is a good idea it may take about a month, but it'll get old to him trying to contact you with no responses. Finding someone else also insta-ex repellant. The best thing you have against him is his own mind, especially if it hasn't been too terribly long since you split up.

Have you tried changing your number? I am thinking about doing this for my daughter because she has a stalker issue herself. She was with this one kid who is in the need to of some serious mental help. She broke up with him last year and to this day he still is trying to contact her "as friends". He even shows up at our house and knocks on her bedroom window after we go to bed but we have a house alarm now so he can not get in. We've had a lot of run ins with this kid and the police were involved at least twice.

If it's always after midnight, I bet it's when he's drinking. I completely agree, IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE. Unless he starts to get threatening at all, then you want to keep those.

Maybe think about getting a restraining order...or at least tell him if he doesn't leave you alone, you'll get one, and then actually follow through with it. Of course, you might want to contact the police to see if he's bad enough that you can get one.

i had this happen to me when i was younger, twice actually, and both times the only way it stopped was i got two guys, who were far bigger than the guy who was bothering me at the time, to speak to the guy bothering me and request nicely that he leave me alone.
Before that i was getting calls (this was before texts, lol) and notes on my car and what i called drive bys, everyday sometimes three or four times a day. after that i heard from them maybe 4 or 5 times in the past 10 years.

Brad, we broke up a good two and a half years ago, and I've told him I have a boyfriend.

Red, summerstorm, that's scary! Maybe I will find some emergency big guys. I know a few, one of whom says he quite possibly hates this guy more than I do. I am thinking about changing my number but I just applied for an internship and my passport using it so I think I should wait. I know when I go to the weekend meetings for the internship, my boyfriend's coming with me. Especially to the evening meeting. And quite possibly, my mace is coming too, if I can get the spilled coffee off of it.

Serenity, he claims not to drink but I wouldn't put it past him. I know he has issues. He claims to have been adopted from Bulgaria after running away from abusive parents. He claims to be happy he's a virgin but I know he's not, otherwise he wouldn't try to be so maniupulative and forceful. He even tried to start a virgin club which to me is just creepy. Looking back I was probably stupid, but I wasn't stupid enough that I let him get anything out of me, which is what counts.

I'll learn about restraining orders just in case.

when i went through this, one of the most important things i learned, was to not let the ex take over your life! ie..dont change your life and your number and your routine cause they are a nut case.

I checked the school's website and I'm really suspecting he doesn't go here anymore, which means he's probably back in Chicago. But I'm not 100% sure.

ElephantPipe: If it makes you feel better I had an ex that was still trying to contact me 4 or 5 years after we broke up. He ended up transferring to my university and it would make for a lot of awkward when I ran into him...he also got my screen name from either my myspace or facebook. Luckily he wasn't harmful, just kinda dumb and VERY awkward.

Anyway, I hope he leaves you alone.

think of it this way, in a way, its kind of flattering. Ok i know thats a stretch, but since both of mine still try to talk to me sometimes, yay for myspace, lol. i just think, wow i am so wonderful that these guys still think about me over 10 years later!
