Got my first injection today. It didn't hurt like i thought it would. I will keep you updated on my progress

Fingers crossed for you-I hope it works. It worked very well for me for a few years. Did you get only one injection? I got 4 the first time as a loading dose.

I'll be anxious to hear how it works for you!

Yes, I only got one injection. I am mostly getting this to treat my arthritis. It just so happens it helps UC too :)

I was wondering why the big leap, hope it helps both your arthritis and UC. Definitely keep us in the loop.

     Hope it helps you!  I start Humira next Wednesday, Remicade failed memad .  They said something like the starting dose is four injections.  I will receive them at my doctor's office for the first time, after that, I will give them to myself.

Good luck Christine. I think I started the Remi when you did and it failed me too. Started Humira last month and hoping it kicks in. My doctor just told me it could take up to eight weeks. Right now I have exzema which started the same time as the Humira.

     Bummer Boxermom.  Have you ever had exzema before?  My dad had it.  I think I inherited these bad genes from his side of the family..lol.  He also had diverticulitis where he went through a serious operation having a portion of his colon removed.  His mom died from cancer of the rectum.   Mom's side had diabetes and heart disease.  So far that is under check but my blood glucose is high 2 hrs after eating from the prednisone.  I went to my family doctor today but he said it doesn't warrant any meds.  I just have to keep a good check on it.  I test it three times a day.  What my family doctor keeps harping on is my osteoporosis...he wants me on Boniva.  I told him I have to get this UP under control and then I will worry about the osteoporosis.  Fosamax and Actonel gave me terrible heartburn.  Don't need ulcers in my esophagus ..I have enough in my rectum.

Jano-437 - geez, you are now going to make "quincy" have a big head!  However, when you are right - you are right.  She convinced me to try the ones I already had but was scared to use.  I ended up with Cortifoam and Anusol - both keeping my UC in control!!

Christine- I have osteoporosis from the steroids.. The Boniva didn't bother me like the Fosimax.

I have never had Eczema before. Just started when I came off the Entocort or started Humira. Not sure what caused it.

Everyday it is a new problem around here.
